A WORD ABOUT PIERRE BEAUDIN, M.ED., OCT, CCC
Pierre Beaudin is a speaker, a trainer, an educational consultant, a webmaster, an author, a musician and a martial arts practitioner. But first and foremost, he is a loving husband and father! A former high school teacher, his life took an unexpected and dramatic turn in 1995 when his daughter was born, severely disabled, deafblind and medically fragile. His son was diagnosed with autism soon after.
Although these challenges could easily have destroyed them, Pierre and his wife developed a capacity to bounce back and turn adversity into a deeply rooted source of resilience, strength, potential and purpose. Pierre's greatest desire is to share with others, to inspire and to motivate. His main speaking interests revolve around developing potential, motivation, purpose and resilience.
Pierre Beaudin has given countless training sessions, workshops and conferences covering many topics such as resilience, deafblindness, autism, Snoezelen, relational communication, computers in education and educational reform. Audiences love Pierre's honest, straightforward style. His words, stories, and examples are filled with wisdom, humour and common sense. Pierre inspires audiences to take action and make some real, lasting changes.
Pierre Beaudin holds two Bachelor's degrees and a Master's degree in counseling. He is recognized by the The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). He successfully completed advanced programs that qualify him as school principal and superintendent of schools. He has worked for the ministry of Education of Ontario, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Canadian Library of Parliament, the Centre de leadership en éducation and the Centre franco-ontarien de ressources pédagogiques. He speaks French and English fluently and is proficient in Spanish and Sign Language (LSQ).
